Transmission Lines

ENGIE’s investment in Transmission Lines is a diversification of its Brazilian portfolio. The projects also align with one of ENGIE’s main pillars worldwide, to lead the energy transition process with a focus on renewable energy, both for distributed energy and in connection with transmission grids. Reinforcement of the Brazilian transmission system and more efficient transportation of electric energy coming mainly from renewable sources also contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and are therefore eligible to add to the Group’s portfolio of Green Bonds.

”We see an opportunity to expand and diversify our operations in Brazil and enter the transmission segment, which, with reinforcements from new lines, improves the industry’s energy efficiency – one of ENGIE’s basic investing assumptions.”
