Products for free consumers

In the Free Energy Market, each company can decide its own strategy for contracting energy. Customized packages, Adherence and Retail are products that ENGIE places at the market’s disposal. See below the characteristic of each one:

  • Custom Contracts

    Contracts drafted according to each company’s specific consumer profile and needs. Ideal for consumers searching for a distinctive contracting strategy, with monthly flexibility, seasonal contracted energy adjustment over the year, scheduled and/or emergency stops, and other benefits.

    In the Free Energy Market, it is important for consumers to know their consumption profile to draw their energy contracting strategy. Contracting can be done for any supply period; a long-term strategy of three to five years is recommended, however, to reduce exposure to market price volatilities.

    The product is ideal for consumers that desire to contract over 1 average MW.

    Characteristics

    Power type: conventional or incentivized (50%);

    Service: all consumer units can be served under a single contract;

    Supply period: at the consumer’s discretion, and may be short- or long-term;

    Contracted energy: partial or full ENGIE supply;

    Flexibilities – ceilings and floors (take or pay);

    Seasonal contracted energy adjustment over the year;

    Energy consumed outside of the flexibility limits traded at market prices and billed in the same invoice;

    Scheduled and/or emergency stops;

    Restatement indices: IGPM, IPCA or a combination of the two;

    Service to a series of loads, energy transfer across units, flexibility applicable to the entire set, etc.;

    Representation before the Electric Power Trade Board (“Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica” – CCEE) can be handled by ENGIE at no additional cost;

    Collateral required.

  • Standard Contracts

    This contracting mode is ideal for customers in need of added flexibility for their power consumption, that do not wish to provide financial collateral, and are looking for a global leader as a partner in power production and trading.

    ENGIE’s standard-form agreement is intended for customers eligible for the Free Energy Market whose added consumer units load to be served by ENGIE does not exceed 1 average MW.

    Characteristics

    Power type: incentivized only (50%);

    Service: a single consumer unit per contract;

    Supply period: short- or long-term;

    Restatement index: IPCA/IBGE;

    Excess energy: exclusive ENGIE acquisition or acquisition by third parties to be defined at the time of the application;

    Migration Shift and Excess Energy Price: sub-market PLD + R$ 50.00/MWh;

    Seasonality: flat;

    Flexibility: +30% / -50%;

    Modulation: according to the load curve;

    Bill due date: the 25th of the month subsequent to the month of supply;

    Advance submission of the e-invoice: up to 10 calendar days prior to the due date;

    Collateral: not required;

    Representation before the Electric Power Trade Board (“Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica” – CCEE): the buyer’s own or third parties’.

  • Retail

    Retail is an alternative practice that ENGIE makes available to consumers, offering a simplified contract model. Customers’ relationships are with ENGIE only, eliminating direct agreements with the Electric Power Trade Board (“Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica” – CCEE).

    Retail trading is a means to enabling companies with low consumption rates to enter the Free Energy Market, enjoying all of its advantages and benefits.

    Characteristics

    Load Sharing: consumers with similar or different taxpayer IDs (CNPJs) located in contiguous areas (not separated by public roads), may add their loads together to reach the minimum 0.5 MW (500 kW) demand level required for special consumer status;

    Safe power supply;

    No need to join the Electric Power Trade Board (“Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica” – CCEE);

    Simplified contracting;

    Special customers have a 50% discount on the cable tariff (Tariff for the Use of the Distribution System, “Tarifa do Uso do Sistema de Distribuição” – TUSD);

    Does not require management, which is ENGIE’s responsibility;

    Added sustainability, as it uses 100% renewable energy.
