Ponte de Pedra HPP, located on the Correntes River in the municipality of Itiquira (MT), began operations in 2005 and was incorporated into ENGIE’s generator complex in 2007. With a run-of-river reservoir of 14.5 km², the plant’s concession agreement expires in 2035. The plant has three generator units with vertical turbines of the Francis type, each with an output of 58.7 MW, located in a rock-excavated underground machine hall. It has an installed capacity of 176.1 MW while the physical guarantee for commercialization is 133.6 average MW.
In 2016, the Company began operating the plant remotely from the Generation Operations Center (COG), located at its head office in Florianópolis (SC).
Ponte de Pedra HPP is certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001 quality management and environmental standards and the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety standard.
